Action
Susan doesn’t wait. For her, Action is instinctive. When something needs to be done, she moves quickly and decisively, often without overthinking it. Acting gives her energy. It makes her feel alive and moving forward.
She has learned that if she doesn’t act right away, there’s a good chance she won’t act at all. With so many things competing for her attention, taking immediate Action helps her stay organized and on top of what matters.
This shows up in small, everyday ways. When an email comes in, she responds. When something needs to be scheduled, she sets it up. In many of the groups she’s part of, book clubs, coaching circles, and family gatherings, she’s the one who gets things moving. Not because she was asked, but because she naturally steps in. When Susan says she will do something, she acts, and things get done.
One story she shared captures this perfectly.
After a frustrating experience with a snow removal service that kept making billing mistakes, Susan didn’t wait for the problem to repeat itself the following winter. She asked around, made a few calls, and secured a new provider months before the snow would even fall. She knows herself well enough to know that if she didn’t act in that moment, she would forget and end up in the same situation again.
This instinct to move forward also shows up in her coaching work. She pays close attention to whether people are taking Action and encourages them to move beyond ideas and into motion. For Susan, insight without Action doesn’t go very far.
At the same time, she is aware that this strength can tip. Acting too quickly can lead to mistakes or to moving forward before she has fully thought something through. For bigger decisions, she has learned to slow herself down, giving herself space to reflect or talk things through before taking Action.
Her advice is to notice where you might be holding back. Where are you waiting, hesitating, or staying inside your comfort zone? Taking even one small step can create momentum, and often that is all you need to get started.
For Susan, Action is about getting started, staying on top of what matters, and being someone others can count on to follow through.
“I just feel better when I act—otherwise I’m wondering, what am I waiting for?”
